I remember turning 30 was a melancholy experience. No other birthday affected me like that, and I'm 50 now. It's just that one has to say say goodbye to one's youth. My melancholy lasted one day.
But your 30's should be the time of your life. Live it large! Find your passions if you haven't already.

Being 30 is a state of mind. If you don't succumb to it, you'll never be 30. I'm 47, still go to heavy metal concerts, drag race, ride dirt bikes and walk 2miles every day. The only difference between 47 and 20, IMHO, is that NOW I can afford to do all those things that I wanted to do in my 20's but couldn't afford to. IMO, life begins again when the kids become independent and the wallet gets fatter.
I'm 34 and my wife will be ....never mind. Neither one of us feel any older than our 20's still like new rock and have lots of fun. We keep looking at our son who is 11 and asking how he keeps getting older and we don't?
