If the catalytic convertor is plugged, it would cause a drag. This would be most noticable at high speed.
There are places that check the CC for free. I have heard on a local auto talk show that you can remove the O2 sensor and drive it. I have never tried that and don't know if it's safe.
Maybe the brakes are hanging up or dragging. Or the emergency brake? After you drive it a while, get out and feel the wheels to see if they are warm. If a brake is dragging, it can burn your hand so be careful.
Just gave it a drive and felt the front brakes (I had the front breaks done three weeks ago) and they were extremely hot. Felt the drums in the rear and they were just warm. hmmm....
FYI: Just bought some aftermarket CarQuest plug wires, and they have the FORD stamp on them! WOOHOO!...and for 2/3 the price for oem. You guys most likely knew this already, but I'm excited. The simple pleasure of life....

This is not something to ignore. You can destroy the wheel bearings, rotors, pads, and calipers if the brakes are dragging. The wheels should feel warm, but not hot. Also, since they were just worked on, I think you found the problem.
Well, I took it back to the shop that did the brakes and they say can't find any problems. I've also changed out the spark plug wires, but still have the same problem.
I guess I'll have the cat checked. But it really feels like something in the driveline. Any other suggestions?
My truck at 110k, the front left caliper was sticking, the whole truck would drag to one side, then after it got going fast enough it dragged to the other side, and i parked it after driving it one night, and looked, the rotor was GLOWING RED HOT. The guys i took the truck to have the brakes looked at said they couldnt find a problem either. So i took it somewhere else where they replaced the front 2 brake calipers, it was about 80 bucks, after everything. i think about 50 parts, 30 labor. Truck has been driving fine ever since. When your driving your truck, somewhere in an empty parking lot, take it out of gear and see how long it takes you to slow down.
