'96 Ranger XLT: CD Changer Install?

I have a 1996 Ranger XLT. The radio unit is just an FM/AM/Cassette with no CD controls.

I've seen Ford CD changers for sale on eBay and I'm wondering what I need to do in order to install one, Ford or otherwise.

Would it be smart to change out my radio for one with CD controls, or should I just look for some aftermarket CD changer with its own controls?
