My '97 Ranger is equiped with the premium sound system without the cd changer.It has all the cd controls on the radio.Do you have to go to a Ford dealer to get a changer or can you get an aftermarket one from somewhere else that will plug in and work through the radio controls? Thanks.

 

Or, what other models of Ford vehicles came with the correct changer that you may be able to fetch from the wreckers?

 

saw a ford to alpine converter on ebay once. some companies make converters to put aftermarket changers on factory head units.
