Unhappy injector coil

help, iv'e been in the pre 94 forum and i am told i am working on a powerstrke, i helped a buddy with his dump truck, it burned up the wire connections for # 1 and # 8 injectors, have replaced all of the wiring and connectors up to the wiring harness. Heres my problem, i pulled off the coil on #1, the tech at ford country said i screwed up the whole injector unit now and the whole unit has to be replaced now, at $450. a pop. is there a procedure for this or did i indeed screw it all up. it seemed simple enough, 4 torx screws and no adj that i could see of. the truck is running but he is complaining, says it dosnt have the power of before. he also replaced the fuel filter, draing all of the bowl. could he have gotten air into the system? or did i indeed screw an injector up which is causing poor performance. please help

If it is not missfiring, I don't think you have an injector problem. You may have air in the system. When was the last oil/filter change, fuel filter and air filter? Maybe the EBV is sticking.

You need to find a new ford Mech, you didn't cause any problem by removing the solinoid. as long as you did not turn the little square metal thing( armature). Just make sure you got it tight.
