I have a 95 302 Bronco. I have a wrap around bumper guard with tabs welded on for lights. I like to put some auxilary lights on it.
At night when it snows here in Denver I really need something to watch out for black ice.
Any ideas on how I could go about this? Might there be a aux wire in the truck somewhere I could use. I like to use a relay also but its been years since I wired on. Are there instructions available some where?
Has anyone got any info for me.
Here's a diagram you can use also. Be warned in some states you cannot have any aux lights above the height of the factory headlamps. If they are mounted above the headlamps, you have to keep them covered for on-road use.
Franklin2,
I received that rear running light with no directions. It has one black wire and one white wire w/red dots. I assume the black is the ground and the white is the "hot" wire. The white wire needs to be spliced into my brown wire? Will those clamps work, the one where you do not have to strip wire??
If you want to check the light, just touch the black wire to a bolt under the hood, and touch the white wire to the battery positive and see if it lights. I think you are on the right track with it.
You can use whatever method you desire to splice into the wiring, but the weather and road grime will be your biggest enemy after a few months. Whatever you use, try to seal it with shrink wrap, or something to try to keep it from getting wet.
