got a question
well my 82 f-150 is getting ready to make a long drive and iam going to prep it on friday one of my prep ideas is to drain the 4 speed tranmission then refill. question at hand what type of lubricant should i use to refill ? anything in particular. the trans is a t-18. as well this makes me sound dumb but i have never done this operation to a standard tranny so were do i locate the drain plug as well were to refill?...thanks for the info in advance.

You can fill it with 90 weight gear oil. I haven't had a T18 trans, but on some manual trans the fill plug is an allen head plug/bolt on the side of the trans about 1/2 way up and the drain could be on the bottom or near the bottom on the side or back. I'm sure somebody here has a T18 and can tell you exactly what to look for.
