Cat Back system
I have a 90, 5.0 w/140,000 mi. and is pretty much stock, except for the recently installed K&N FIPK. I want to install a cat back system and I'm looking at Dynomax, Flowmaster or Gibson. Also considering SS vs. galvanized aluminum. I’m not sure if the SS is worth the extra money. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

SS is definately worth the money to me. If you live in a part of the country that regularly receives snow, and then road chemicals, you know all about how quickly a standard aluminized exhaust system can rust. The SS lasts much longer. What kind of sound are you looking at getting? Each one of those mufflers you listed will provide a distinct sound, both outside and inside of the vehicle.

I live in the Northern NJ and I'm fall to familiar with the toll that driving in winter conditions has on vehicles. As far as sound goes, nothing too radical. A low rumble, both inside and out, would be nice. Thanks for the reply.

I love the way my Gibson sounds on my bronco. It does have headers and a high flow Y pipe, which make it a little bit louder. I have run Gibson on the past too. I liked it then as well. I actually have a two sound clips of my bronco with the Gibson system (in the cab and next to the tailpipe). If you would like to hear them, just reply here and I can shoot them over to you in an email.

Thanks for the clips, they sounded great! The Gibson exterior did sound a little loud, but I took the headers and Y pipe into consideration, plus I think everything sounds a little louder than it really is recorded from all the other kinds of clips I've heard in the past. Mine's also going on an explorer, so the engine won't be as big (I dk how much that will actually matter), but it did have good sound! Just what I'm looking for on the interior too, nice mellow and quiet!
