64 4x4

I recently purchased a 1964 f100 4x4 and the right front brake shoes are getting oil on them. I was wondering if anyone has put seals in these front axles, or maybe where is a good place to start looking for parts. I checked the lmc catalog and it doesnt show this front axle. Thanks for any info.

If you have a NAPA or CarQuest store near you, go there. They can get you what you need. You might have to give them a axle tag number, so look around the center section of the axle housing and find the tag. It should be on one of the nuts that hold the chuck into the axle housing.

I forgot to mention also.... You may have to pull the seal out and get a number off the seal. They can dross it over to thier part numbers.

If you have trouble finding parts for your 4x4, here is the Dana Spicer tech line number, they can help locate them !-419-866-3900 I have used these guys a few times and they help me locate new parts.

When I did my front axle, I had called around without any luck for parts. I found a place called Foothill 4WD in Auburn Cal ( 1-800-644-9433 ) who had the parts, and they also make a disk brake conversion for these early Dana 44's. You might give them a call if you don't have any luck. Al
