I have an 06 F250 XLT with telescoping mirrors. These mirrors have the turn signal on the end. Well I smacked mirrors yesterday with another big truck on a narrow road. It didn't break the black plastic just cracked the lower small mirror and broke the turn signal. Does anyone know if I have to replace the whole darn thing or can I just replace the turn signal and lower mirror. The power in the mirrors still work.
The Turn Signal peice is 5C3Z 17D743-BAA (LH) & 5C3Z 17D742-BAA (RH) This is the Whole Back cover of the mirror and lists for $98.48
As for the lower mirror, you will NOT have to replace with a entire mirror. Part numbers YC3Z 17K707-CB (LH) & YC3Z 17K707-CA (RH) are the lower glass pieces and Lists for $58.25 a piece.
Most Ford Dealers do stock these items. There are alot of us out there that do this kinda thing daily.
I broke the back cover and turn light a while back and I got the part from the dealership, it listed for around $100 and I got it for $66. Of course you could go with recon, they sell only the lights in smoke or clear for about $100.
If you move the mirror all the way to the left or right you will see where the back piece snaps into the front half. I think there was three areas it snaps into the front half. use a long screwdriver to unclip them and then unplug the turnsignal and it's off. it actually goes pretty smooth. I did a search on this and found lots of help.
