I have a 89 bronco with the 5.0 EFI. I dont have a check light on but i did a code test just to see, the only thing that i can get to come up is a koeo code of 67 no other tests work as far as continous codes. The idle rpm is fluctuaing from about 480 to 600rpm with an average staying around 550 or just below in neutral. This seems low to me. Ive replaced the O2 sensor, Plugs, wires, coil, Ign module in the distributor, Cap and rotor. Im at a Loss 6 months ago i did replace the low pressure pump in the tank. And the ign module died a few weeks ago but this was going on before that. Any idea's on what to check, without codes im at a loss as to what part to look at next. P.S. all vacume lines apear to be in good shape so I dont think its a vacume leak.
I had a low idle & stalling and stop problem. Traced it to the EGR valve getting stuck open intermittenly. Try cleaning yours out with throttle body cleaner.
Or to check to soo if the EGR is the problem you can use the dime in the EGR tube trick to permantly close the EGR valve. If your idle should increases when you do this then you found the problem.
