F 350 Dully Registration

Looking for some info on the F350 DWD registration in California.I would like to know how much more it is to register the F350 DWD then a F250.We are paying big bucks here for reg.and the state is broke,so I guess I better do alittle homework on this matter. Also is there a way to avoid the commercial plates. Thanks for your input.

This should be posted in one of the California chapter forums.

Where do we find the Calif. Chapter Forums? I've just been going to this site (Ford-Trucks.com).

When you go to the Forums, just scroll down the page- the state chapters are near the bottom.

Thanks, I've never been that far down on the Forums list.

There is no way to avoid commerical plates in California. At least they allow you to park in yellow zones.

Two variables determine the price of your plates,
1) "VLF", based on value, a "property tax" of sorts, and
2) Weight fee based on unladen, NOT gross weight.

If the F-250 is 4800 lbs empty and the F-350 is 5300, then you will be in a higher weight class and pay more. I dont know how much more, check the DMV website or AAA.

I just got a refund of the VLF overcharge last fall.

I've been told that "Disabled Plates", if you qualify, will save about $100.
