Removable top framework....

Concerning the removable top ('95 EB), I need to find out where there are any steel re-inforcement bars in it. I have a project to try and need the location of the steel to avoid damage to them.

Someone had a pic awhile back where he took the side glass out and cut a hole in the top exposing the steel supports. He had it set up pretty nice cause it was a factroy top w/ all the seat belt mounts and such. Mine is all faded on top and you can sort of see the supports showing through the fiber glass. -William

How about using a magnet to find where the metal is?

though it sounds stupid... Use a studfinder. Studfinders work on pretty basic principles- scan for depth behind the working surface. Fiberglass/Metal/Wood, doesn't matter...still more material behind certin sections of the top.

Can't Hurt to try it...
