Hi. Wanted to ask a question of ya,all. I have a bone stock 2000 F150 4X4. What is the best way to level the truck, front level with the rear? Thanks,
PS: Did you ever notice that if you forget and press the shift key when you type 4X4 you get $X$. Fits!
On my '01 F150 4X4 Lariat, I did about 4 turns on each torsion bar adjustment. Got about 36,000 miles since that adjustment and it is great. Rides a little different at first and it is real close to being level.
i just boughta 2000 f-150 4x4 lariat and i think the front needs to be a bit higher also. how do you go about turning the torsion bars? my friend did it to his 03 ram but don tknow if its the same. looks a lot better though. thanks
Look under the cab, you will find two long bars going back. There is a bolt pointing up at the rear of the bars where they mount. Get a socket to fit and turn each one the same number of turns tighter. I also measured my front frame heigth when doing this to be sure the lift I got was equal on both sides. Some jack the truck up prior to this but I did not. Just roll the truck arfter you ae done to get the true look. The truck settles a bit the first time you move it.
Yep, it will give you a bit more room. I think I gained about 1.5 inches at the wheel well. It also depends on where on the body your tires are touching. I had to trim my factory mud guards a bit when I went to the offset wheel.
I just had to have an alignment after the addition of my 285/75R16's. While in there, the guys cranked the torsion bars for me. No more slight rubbing and the front is a tad higher than the back. It looks great. I have noticed the need for a steering stabilizer since that work. It's on the shopping list. My left front tire was rubbing on the inner wheel skirt when turned hard right. FYI.

I can tell a difference. The shop said they got about 1 1/2 inches higher too!
