Rim Question
Sure glad I asked about this before spending money.
DCS- Thanks for the continued info, Elgin to be specific in Illinois. Kinda wierd seeing your truck on someone else post
PJ??CruisnPhantom- Thanks, I just put a TJM bumper, and fender flares on last weekend. Pics soon
Yeti- I see now. I was just assuming suspension travel. Drat.
I think the truck just needs a little more rubber. I was actually expecting more of the 4" lift, I should of went 6"
Oh well, next project we'll know better. Anyone wanna buy an F350?
J/KSo 35" would be prolly the most I could go tires wise and try to get a rim with a smaller back space. Maybe 36"?? Push push...
Hows that? What about those hub spacer paltes? Bad?
IMO, the biggest tire that will work with a 4" lift is the 35" Parnelli Jones Dirt Grip (it specs out bigger than other 35s like your BFGs). I'd go with a 10" wide wheel (I like Weld Wheels) with 4.5-4.625" backspacing. They will fill out the wheel well more........and if you off road and flex the suspension you will have some rubbing (as I stated before I can easily get my 35" BFGs to rub off road under a 4" lift).
Anything bigger than a 35" will most likely require some trimming and shimming and will rub if you flex the suspension while turning.
I have also seen 37" MT/Rs under a 4" lift which required pulling back the plastic inner liner and shimming the bumper. I would be worried of rubbing just turning into driveways and parking lots with that setup.
