Hitch reciever vs. Bumper

I got an F350 a couple months ago. I have wanted to tow a couple of things so far. However the ball on my bundy bumper is pretty high up and at least in the case of my fathers little tent camper it is too high.

What are my options? I assume 2.5" receiver hitch is the best.

Is anything towable from the bumper? It does seem pretty high.

Thanks,

Brian

Anything you tow should be level. I would recommend a frame mounted receiver, but class V hitches are not necessary in most cases. A 2" receiver (Class III or IV) should be plenty.

I'd recommend that you get a quality heavy-duty frame mounted hitch. Installing the hitch will take an afternoon and when you are finished, you will be able to tow anything that you might want to.

One of the advantages of having an F-350 is its ability to pull just about anything that can be moved. Might as well set your truck up to use it's capabilities.

Once the hitch is installed, you can use a drawbar with the proper drop to match what you are towing.

That is the conclusion I came to Lou. Took about 3 telephone calls to trailer shops in the area.

I found a class V 12k hitch by sure pull for $250 installed, will get it done today.
