i dont know but is there any liquid between the trans and engine? were are the flywel and cluch all that? how u put liquid there?
The torque converter is located between the engine and the transmission. Thr torque converter is a sealed unit but it can get cracks and leak. The most likely problem is a leaking seal between the transmission and rotating torque converter. This seal usually does not have any pressure on it. When it leaks, it is usually because other internal bushings are leaking because they are worn from a poor alignment. This transmission has been out several times. They may have solved the first problem, but they have created a new problem because of poor assembly practice. Just replacing the seal will not solve the problem.
I have a '94 with the same leak. I noticed it when I was pulling a trailer on a grade and saw smoke in my rear view. Pulled over to check level. Still had enough to make it home.
I have scheduled an appointment with local Ford dealer. They said it sounded over the phone like a front pump seal.
I think the oil blew back on some wires or something because now my fuel guage is working again. It hasn't worked in thousands of miles.
