since I cant seem to find what im looking for in a search, i guess i gotta start a new thread...
I have a 09 f 150 4wd that i took in for a trans flush, the electricasl bulkhead connector on the rear of the trans appeared to be leaking so i got the replacement part and asked the service shop to throw that in if possible. Two valve bodies were partially removed and the said part was still not accessable. i said NOOOOO!!! put it back together and do the flush! so the flush was done (by a ford tech) and now the back up lights, rear parking aid, and rear view camera are all out of commission!
it as been in the shop for 2 days now and the flush was done a second time for whatever reason, now it wont come out of third gear. the shop owner called me to say i bought the wrong filter...i dont have the part number handy but i got it from oreilly. they say it is the filter for the 6r80 trans with the 21 bolt pan. does that sound right? does this shop not know ***** from shinola? has anyone had this problem before? thanks for any help
So they flushed it twice for no reason, and then knowingly installed the wrong filter, just because you bought it? Might I suggest getting your truck the hello utta there!!!!!
my guess is they dropped the pan to see if somethimg was screwed up, then couldnt put the filter back in the right way...who knows whats going on. but if the truck was started without the bulkhead connector plugged in could that cause permanent damage?? I feel for the next person to take a vehicle to this guy, he knows im not paying!
