each year and model are a little different, you need to look at the operators manual for that year. basically you take a tooth pick and push in the small hole on the bottom -- several times untill it reads the right VAR.. that is the location on the map. I know Illinois and iowa are something like 8-9. Using the right number will make a more exact compass since NORTH is not exactly at the axis of rotation. After you get the right VAR, you push the button again and then drive in a 50 ft diameter circle about 3 times untill the compass kicks out of cal and reads the correct value.. Look up the operators manual and verify.

I believe the sensor should have 8000-14000 ohms. remove connector check resistance across sensor. mine had 300,000 ohms (BAD) THE BOARD HAD TO BE LOOKED AT AS WELL. i SOLDERED THE 510 OHM RESISTORS(THEY ARE FLAT AND ON THE BOARD BUT START TO LIFT UP AWAY FROM THE BOARD) DID BOTH OF THEM. WORKS FINE NOW AND i REPLACED THE SENSOR(42) BUCKS READS RIGHT NOW. SIMPLE TO FIX THIS. LET ME KNOW HOW IT GOES

Overhead Temp Off
I have a 2000 F250, the temp in the overhead display is consistently off by 30 degrees. I replaced the sensor on the core support to the left of the radiator. Same result. I believe that sensor to be ambient air temp for the fuel injection. Is there another one for the overhead display?
