Some good news & some GREAT NEWS

77-78-79 F series, get the rag joint flange off the steering box in the truck you get the column from also.

you'll need to wire it, go to Slick 60's site & search that in the archives there's a grea article on wire retro/ upgrade/ modifcation there which is clear & definitive.

You may have to use the later 73 & up dash bracket also. On the eFFy tilts, once you study one you should be able to spot one in a second. The mast jacket between the botton dash face, @ mount Brkt & the wheel mount/ swivel portion is much different & somewhat larger, plus, the cover is bigger too.

On the F Series the "Tilt Option" is engaged by pulling the T-Sig handle slightly up towards the wheel, but not too hard. THere can not be any pressure on the wheel, side to side or up & down.
Pulling too hard can break/ damage the Turn sig sw in the mast jacket head, right under the Strg wheel. Don't force the T-Sig handle.

FWIW, if you happen to get one with a bad Turn Signal switch, FoMoCo no longer carries them, nor does anyone else I have found yet. . . . BUT The Good News is you can use turn sig switch out of an early to mid 80s Dodge B1 -2 -300 Van without tilt as it is the same switch even has the 79 FoMoCo wire colors. . . . . & BEST of All they're still available last time I checked!

Thumbs up OOoop..S! Here's s'more Info for ya'.

rogmale,

I forgot to add. . . . with 77-8-9 FoMoCo F Series Tilt Col you can run later, smaller diameter, sportier strg wheels as it slips or fits (seats) farther down on tilt's splined stub shaft. Cancel "trips" fit & work correctly in tilt column or Dodge van T-Sig Sw equally.

I'm talking XLT Lariat Sport wheels from late 80's - early to mid 90's with small diameters. You won't feel like you're piloting a Bus or a Garbage truck down the road.

FWIW FoMoCo used F series cabs well up into the F8 & F900 trucks which needed a huge wheel, so since the columns are pretty much universal among F Series all got a huge Strg Wheel.
You do not need that especially with Saginaw P/S system you got.

Also WELCOME to 61 to 66 F Series Forum here at FTE's site. Always good to see a new name in our community here at FTE, Hello There rogmale. . .

Thanks FORDBOYpete,
You gave me more info than I can digest at the end of another honeydo weekend. Will work on it all this week.
This is a daily driver, takes a while to get it all done and still get to work. Will try to get some pics up this week.
