Truck Bed

Interested in buying a 2001 F250 - 350 short bed -- well anyhow was wondering if anyone knew about the standard factory truck bed from Ford and a company will transform the side walls on the outside for storage boxes -- but it looks just like the standard except for doors -- i have seen this before -- but now have no luck finding the company responsible for doing this -- if anyone could please advise me of this info it would be greatly appreciated -- also with any other cool links for the diesel and what i should do when i first get it -- thank you so much --

Truck Bed

The company that you are looking for is Sherer. I have an article from Truck Trend about this. It is called the Sherer Super Duty Tower. It is an all composite construction features 6 weathertight and lockable compartments. One compartment holds the spare tire. And another can function as a beverage cooler. Also unique to SDT is a notched tailgate that can be either lowered or removed and a chrome bumper. Sherer Super Duty Tower

Here is the Cadillac of Super Duty beds, the Super Duty Tower (SDT) from Scherer Truck Equipment. The all-composite construction features six weathertight and lockable compartments that offer more than 7 cubic feet of storage. One compartment even holds the spare tire for easy access, and another can function as a beverage cooler. Also unique to the SDT is a notched tailgate that can either be lowered or removed and a chrome bumper.

The SDT styling is well matched to the Super Duty cab, with continuous character lines around the bed, Ford Flareside taillamps, and an optional two-tone paint scheme. The bed package also includes stainless-steel cab steps and running boards to match the wheel covers.

Standard features on the SDT include auxiliary cargo lamps, trailer electrical connectors, cargo tiedowns, and an integral bed liner. Various hitches are available, including fifth-wheel, gooseneck ball, and frame-mounted rear receiver hitch.

The SDT package also includes an adjustable air-ride suspension with automatic height control and 33.8-gallon auxiliary fuel tank for a total capacity of 70 gallons.
Sherer says trailers up to 18,800 pounds can be pulled with its bed, and the GCW ranges up to 26,000 pounds, depending on the chassis cab. For more information, call 800/373-8725.
