*Frame mount* nerf/step bars?

Once more, I'm asking for help.

Do any of you know of a source for *frame mount* nerf/step bars? Everything I've found so far mounts to the quarter panels--and I'm not sure I want to have something sticking out the side that will transfer insult to the bodywork. I'd much rather have something mounted to the frame, and protecting the bodywork.

I intend to use the truck as a real worker, in an area known for "greasemud." Hence the probability of sliding into something and bonking the sides is pretty good.

Thanks in advance,
Bob Damjanovich

Smittybilt makes frame mounted nerf bars, there are some others also,I just can't think of who right now. Get a copy of one of the major 4 wheel drive magazines and look through the ads. Most auto parts stores should be able to order them for you also. I have smittybilt sure-steps on my jeep cj,they're pretty decent.

Westin also makes a very popular frame-mount entry bar. They bolt on using existing holes.

Smitty Nerf bar is the way to go. They are the best looking Nerf bar I have seen and they attach to the frame.

I am also looking for frame mounted bars for my 01 Crew Cab. The Westin page has them mounting to the body and Smitty sez they don't make them for a CC. On my last truck I had Smitty bars and they were GREAT.

They make them for the Crew Cab. I have them mounted on my truck which is a CC. Check out this web page My truck

There is a picture of my truck with a smitty nerf bar on a CC.
