I've got an 01 PSD. Put a free flow intake on, 4" down tube, left exhaust stock except removed the muffler ( replaced with 4" tube), doesn't have a cat. I tow a 12K # toy hauler and need some umph. I've researched all the chips, programmers, etc and can't decide best way to go. I was looking at the Diablo 4-way chip but have read that the egt are to high. It doesn't make much sense to pay for 40hp and still take the chance of frying the beast. Any ideas. I've looked at Banks, diablo, edge, superchip, bullydog and a few others I can't remember.

Your best bet would be a multi-program chip. 12K is a pretty heavy load, and pretty much any program over 60 horsepower will give you EGT problems unless you drive like a little old lady. Thats where the flip chips come in handy, you've got a nice mild tow program, and something with a little more b*lls for when the need arrives.
Go Diablo!
You can do more with it than any other tuner on the market.
I hooked one up for a friend on his 99 PSD(also put on a 4" exhaust). We do construction work and pull bobcats, track hos, and other heavy equpiment.
Hes been running it continously for the past 2 months on the 60hp setting and not one problem.
