summer nights

Sometimes down in the barn, things just hit me out of nowhere. Usually it's a wrench slipping off a nut, but tonight it was this: there isn't much of anything i like more than going to the barn on a warm spring night, sliding open the door, turning on some country music, and working on the old Ford. Every once in a while I have to take a break to sit and smoke the pipe and picture the day that truck will roll out of there.....

anybody else have this feeling? you should, if you don't! It's pretty wicked.

Be thankful for your slice of heaven.

That is indeed a warm feeling.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 07-Jun-02 AT 00:00 AM (EST)]Excellent sentiments!

So,after you finish that pipe ,are you up for a Cow Patty Toss?

I'm up for one!
My cousin and I throw cow patties all the time at the farm.
Trying for the inside a tractor tire from 50'away.

It usually ends the day with laughter.

I spend a lot of time hanging out in the garage. I have a recliner, stereo, dog, and my truck. Who could ask for anything more ??? Oh, there's a fridge too. Makes for a great summers eve.

I love to just sit outside and look at my truck and look for new things to do to it and other trucks. I usaully sit in the lawn chair with my pad of scratch paper and pencil along with a cold beer and start sketching out a new fab suspension or lift for a truck. and hear the occasional scream and gun shots from a few blocks away then it is all over and I go into the house and sit on the floor with my kids. Gotta love those West Phoenix Arizona summer nights

Trying to move to better nieghborhood but every where you go now there is a Home Owners Asso (communist Asso)

I want to be out there right now, working on my truck (minus the country music though). Instead I am sitting here, sweating, trying to bring myself to do homework (10 pages on the pros and cons of prostitution, its socail impact, and if it is a devaint act or turly a socail crime) and writing on this page. Maybe I should forget the paper for a while and buy some ice cream.

Funny - I forget whether prostitution is the first or the second oldest profession.

But perhaps that is why aspects of it seem to be reflected in so many OTHER professions, most particularly law and government...

You fella's already have the makings of the "Good Life" if you think about it.

A truck to drive, and/or a truck to tinker on, and the time to daydream about how to make your personal toys and toyboxes that much better.

Treasure those moments. Even for people who become very wealthy - it all really comes down to the same thing...

Oh yeah....My barn won't fit my truck but I park it next to it and turn on the Seattle Mariners baseball listening to them... I can remember doing that since they became a team back in "77"... Sometimes there isn't even that much to do on either of my Fords but it is fun to tinker......

That is "Americana"........
