I can't think of any reason for the gears or clutch to wear out, I'm not even sure how many trans have a plastic tip to the shift linkage. I'm just throwing out info I've stored in my head from tech school.
Well i agree, if it is true... then very soon i will be out a transmission... my arm is either on the shifter or along the bench. Depends on who im in the truck with
well, I finally changed the fluid and glad I am. The old fluid was brown and grey streaked with metal and the plug had about 1/2 inches of metal all around it. Tokk almost 4 quarts. I used pennzoil senthetic blend $2.99 vs mobil1 ATF at $5.99. What a pain if you dont have a pump, after fluid on the floor and my arm i finally used a dish washing liquid bottle with the squit top, no problems after that and it took no time at all. I dont feel no differnce in shifting, but it is entirely much quieter.
