Running very hot

I have an 1984-2.8L-V6 Ranger that was leaking coolant and always ran a little hot. I had just put in a new water pump and thought while I was at it, I'd replace the thermostat There are no leaks now, but it still runs awfully hot. The coolant in the radiator is cool...it doesn't seem to be circulating. I'd surely appreciate any help before I tear into it again with another new thermostat!!

It sounds like you may have a vapor lock in the engine. I am not familiar with the Ranger engine's; but, you can most likely find your answer on "The Ranger Station" web site. Thoes guys know everything about rangers.

Good Luck,

Oscar
