I'm driving down the turnpike today and I pass a big Lincoln Continental or some car of that caliber. On the back is a large sign that said, "Impaired Vision". On the side it reads "Low Visibility". How in the world is it legal for someone who can't see to drive?
At least he's warning everyone.....I've met some people driving who probably shouldn't have been, but you couldn't tell they couldn't see until they change lanes or pull out right in front of you.
I had an old lady decide to make her left turn across traffic right infront of me coming the other way. She completely screwed that up and almost totalled my truck, 7k worth of damage. Definitely had trouble figuring out how far away I was and how fast I was going...but..even still...I really wasn't very far away..and it was a two lane road she was trying to turn through lol
My grandpa is one of those who should have their licence revoked. He's blind in one eye and half blind in the other. Driving down a two lane raod hes either straddling the center line or driving stright down the wrong side of the road. No joke. Compound that with the fact he visits his local Elks club everyday and drives home with a serious load on thanks to Tanguray <sp?>. I really hope he gets pulled over soon before he kills someone.
pssst. Any cops from the Caldwell, ID area here on the board??
hey now... im 21 years old, im almost blind in my right eye. no collisions on my record so far. maybe when im older ( 80 ) i wont be on the roads anymore. which is ok cause we'll have those neat little air-cars like on the "Jetsons"
Back home on the farm we had a old fella from town that always drove the country roads. He was one of those that should not have been driving. He always drove the center of the road, even up the hills. I'm surprised he never killed anyone. He did put me in the ditch once when I was driving the 4520 JD and pulling the cultivator. Freaked me out. The irony of his life: he died while walking down the road (quarter mile from my place) after his truck stalled (chevy). Not only did he drive down the middle of the road, but he walked there too.

Don't you have to pass a vision test to get a license in your state?? If the person didn't meet minimum standards how did they get a license?? I'd be curious to know what the worst vision would be that still passes and if it varies from state to state.
One of my neighbors is legally blind, doesn't have a licence or insurance, but drives anyways. He keeps getting another car every time he totals his out. Last week he took out another neighbor's porch.
I remember someone who drove around the block a few times where my Pop used to live, then stopped in the middle of the intersection and asked the neighbors where he lived...
The guy was in plain sight of his own house.
But then - his breath had a higher octane then what his buick was running on.
