I have a 1990 Ford Bronco 4WD with a 351 in it. If I was to put pipes on the truck, what would give me the best sound? I will not be putting on headers and I will be keeping the cat.
I hear a lot of Chevys that sound really good, a deep rumble. What would give me that sound?
Most likely the Flowmaster 40 series. I have one on our '01 F150 4X4 Lariat and love it. Got a nice rumble when driving and you can hear it when cruzing also. Will put one on our '95 EB Bronco when I can.
Since you are going to keep the stock cats intact I'd recommend a "louder" muffler or no muffler at all to you (really won't be that loud since the cats muffler a whole lot themselves.) If you go Flowmaster, make sure you get the 40 Series Original... the Deltaflow version will probably be too quiet for your taste.
you can just buy a flowmaster off ebay for about 40 bucks. if you wish to have a larger pipe just have a shop make you some. you can keep a single exhause out the side and have the same sound as duals out the back. it'll save a few hundred dollars. i'm going to just replace the muffler on mine and keep the stock pipes for cost reasons.
