Disable Speed Limit Sensor?

Disable Speed Limit Sensor?
I am not sure how vital to the cpu the speed sensor is-i know its there for a good reason and i dont want to just get rid of it, i cannt...as i can imagine it is sending info to the cpu and it is comparing the speed to the load, adjusting fuel and everything else...when to shift ect. on a automatic....so my question is this...is there anyway to by pass the speed limit ability of it in the brain - when it says ok guy, fast enough.
the cpu in question is a 1988 aerostar and i believe she is cutting out at about 85mph (no im not pushing a aerostar to 100mph, this is in another automobile...)
can i get a cpu from a different model ...eg - taurus that will at leaste have a higher top speed? (lets shoot for 112) but will that effect the shifts, power, ect that may have been programmed into the aerostar - i use the aerostar cpu because the car its in weighs about 3600 pounds and thought that could be a close macth - any real logic there - no.
it also has a full new rebuilt engine and such going in this spring...so as long as the wires plug in - im game for about anything
or am i stuck with this? a chip is an option i hear but changes the fuel/ar and such - and i am working on a personal SC setup for this summer, so i dont want to mess with the factory settings yet, in fact i hear a NA chip is the wrong thing to do for a SC (forced) application....
I dont really speed, esp when there is traffic - im not that Ahole running and swerving in the civic...but sometimes late at night or when no ones around its fun to punch it.
thanks for any help, advice

thank you
but as i feared there is too much too risk from that read out than there are benifits....the old MB is a cruiser, even though it is smooth as glass all the way up to its "new-american" speed limit...
but if i want to go faster (even though i shouldnt, but we are all human) there is the corrado and a few HO ponies available....
still any news/info to do this as harmless as possible would be awesome...eg - custom chip that removes speed limit, leaves everything else alone...sound possible, ill have to give some folks a call...
thanks all
