well I had to take my dist. out of course for the intake swap its all back togther and it wont fie ,I marked all my stuff and put it back in to match, it cranks fine, and on the first touch it tried to fire then, ever sence then it just turns....I have to get a new longer bolt to fix the dist. hold down but after that I will be trying to get her to fire up......so could it be maybe I am a tooth off on the gear.....of just need to mess with timing......just fustrated coverd in only god knows what and ready for her to fire....But gota love it right...lol....just lookin for suggestions and praying for help....
when i had to pull my dizzy, i set the #1 piston tdc and rotor pointing to piston #1 wire...spent a couple hours trying to get it to fire. so eventually i got mad as did my dad so we would set tdc, and move the dizzy back a tooth, crank it over. we went through the process until it fired. i dont know if that is recommended but it worked for me.
ok....tomada I am going to set it at TDC and set the rotor at correct timing and see if she fire should i pull the plug and sitck somthing down there and try and find TDC...I know how but havent done it with the motor asembled....
That's how I usually do it, or even better, shine a flashlight in the hole (if you can get down in there to see it)
Make sure you're on the compression stroke when doing it though. I know, should be obvious... but I've seen people fail to do that in the heat of the moment.
Before or after you reset the dizz, make sure you have fire at the plugs. I would hate for you to go through all that and find your coil went dead (don't ask).
