???Different ways to swap in a 460???

What are the different bells and other componets used to swap a 460 into a 71 w/ a 435? Thanks

351m, 400, 429, 460 bellhousings...you'll need different motor mounts

I was thinking upside down would be the best. Trans doesn't bolt up very well.

What about the 400 bell. Year, what size flywheel, and other stuff?

You can use the 351m bell or 400m bell...they will both bolt to the np435. If it is an internally balanced 460 you can use and FE flywheel. Again you will need different motor mounts and towers, i got mine from landlproducts.com You will need spacers in between the bell and block if you use the 3 finger clutch. I'm not sure about spacers with a diaphram clutch.

I heard you didn't have to use spacer plates with a 400 bell.

Whatt about the one year that Ford offered the 460/435 combo in their trucks?

I want to use a bigger clutch assy than the 360 uses.
