Yet another question, while i have a million, i will try not to ask to many at once. How hard is it to swap out dash bords? With
The 86 king cab 4wd that i want to custom/restore, i would like the interiier and exsterier to match my company. I just happen to have a red dash/enterier , paint the truck white and have lettering done to match the trailer. I have a digital photography company, and we do quite a bit on location, towing a sporty 17 foot trailer that has been lettered nicely. Company Colors are burgandy white and green. (funny, i got the truck just to tow the trailer, and the guy i brougt it from threw in another truck for parts. the parts truck is the only one that runs, moves forward and reverse!)
On my 84, there are only about 12 screws to remove the dash pad. 4 in the defroster vents, 3 along the top of the inst. panel, 2 along the top of the radio, and 3 above the glove compartment. Less than 30 minutes to remove it. I haven't bought one but JC Whitney has them in the catalog for a little over a hundred dollars.....
I've removed my dash so many times alreadly with my CD player, speakers, custom gauges and dash lights, I can have it out in under 10mins easy. It's really pretty simple, no tricky snaps, just good ol screws.

3 for $40 at O'rielly's ,"iEquus" I think. They are mechanical and white faced and have 4 different color options, red, blue, green, and yellow and come w/ all the fittings. I went with red and re-did my original dash guages to light up red also, along w/ my CD player and red lights under the dash. I put the water temp. and oil pres. on each side of my dash where the vents are supposed be, the volt meter is mounted beside the steering wheel along with all my red switchs for my outside lights. All and all the guages work great and I would never no the difference from autometers.
