more header ?'s

I was also thinking about putting the gibson shortie headers on my 97 f-350 with a 460, and getting either a diablo or superchips programmer. The fact that the shortiest don't need special programming makes me wonder if they are worth using.

What exactly is the special programming for the long tube headers? Should I just get the long tube ones? They're only a couple hundred bucks more.

Also, will I be able to adjust the speedometer?

The long tube headers may only be a couple hundred buck more but you will have to have alot more work done to your exhaust to make them fit.

Also, I would look into a set of copper header gaskets such as the sce-4035 (summit racing's part#).

Long tube headers either displace or remove the O2 sensors. This causes a service light on the dash. They also require the fuel mixture to be slightly richer.

Short tube headers do work and are worth it, but since they do not displace the O2 sensors they do not require custom programming to deal with the dash light.

thanks for the info.

What about adjusting my speedometer? Can the superchips programmer do that?
