Pick up the latest issue of Four Wheeler, they have the contenders for the top truck challenge ready to be choosen. So how bout bout who do you think should be picked? I haven't decided yet but what do you think. Also does anyone know wny of the entries?
1. '79 Ford bronco---#11 on list
2. T-Rex,the 6 wheeled dodge---#8
3. '71 Ford bronco---#23
4. '76 ford high boy---#23
5. '81 Chevy---#17 (feel free to shoot me for that )
After that, to close to decide. The one which will NEVER make it is the '79 Oldsmobile Hybrid
These are the ones i would pick:
1. #4, the '72 ford F-150 (52" rubber and 520 cu in)
2. #6, t-rex (a 6x6 dodge would be awesome to see in action)
3. #19, 76' High-Boy (they need a women driver this year)
4. #23, 71' bronco
5. #31, 80' ford 3/4 diseal (to many cool toys not to be in it)
6. #21, 62' Unimog (its a unimog and with that much travel it kickes @$$)
7. #5, 84' Land Cruiser (portal axles, diseal, and 53" tires)
8. #12, 94 burban (its a chevy but it has 850 hp and up to 18" f travel)
9. #26, 82 F-150
10. #34, 82 Jeep CJ-8 Scrambler
It would be neat to see that Olds hybrid go at it and watch it destory itself.
i want to see a "relatively" stock jeep or something compete.. just to see something to compare the course to ya know? Maybe stock just with a snorkle and winch.. that would be nice to have.
I think we should all pick the Olds just to make the guy go. Aside from the fact that it's stuck under the hood of that overgrown grocery getter, that twin turbo Cummins in the chebby sounds nice. Maybe that's what my truck needs...............
The 84 Cruiser is a must-have, the 80 Ford is a given, and the 72 up on the tractor tires would nicely round it out.
