5.5 or 6.6

I have a question. I want to order a lariat sc and I was thinking I would like the shorter wheel based 5.5 bed. I really would have liked a reg cab and a flair side with more "toys" that what thef4x package offers. I am old school sort of and like the short wheel based 4x4. i think they looked the best.
Back to my question. How many of you like the looks of the 5.5 to the 6.5 on a super cab? Have you noticed a big difference in the ride and handling?
I have owned many trucks over the years 18-20 or so and my favorite was a 97 reg cab flair side off road. This was a joy to look at and a pleasure to drive. I don't like the "looks" of the longer wheel based trucks. They look a bit like a bus!LOL
I now have a 2002 sd SC v-10 lariat and liked it for what I got it for.. I got rid of the small 5th wheeler and want to step to a better and quieter ride.
I do like the look of the sc, but nobody will probably never ride in the back. This is why I might order the 5.5 sc because it is more in proportion IMO.

I prefer the 6.5 but I always have a crossover toolbox back there. The 5.5 would be WAY to short with the toolbox. But without it I expect I would look real seriously at the 5.5, plus it would be much more garageable.

Look here for 04 Lariat w/ 6.5 and toolbox...http://www.sykox.com/F150.htm

Thanks for the response guys! I pull a 14' dual axle cargo trailer that my tools are in. I like having everything I need at the job site, plus the sides are so high I would need a step ladder to get into one of those behind the cab boxes.:O)
I today just ordered the truck! I got such a good deal I still can't believe it. I traded a 2002 f250 V10 lariat with 36000 mi and got 24000 for it. I paid 29500 for it 30 months ago. Bought the 150 for 340 below invoice.

Just one thing, the purpose of a truck is to haul, so 8' or buy a car/SUV, not half a truck. my 2cents

I had one of those Big SUV's Expedition, but I am getting the Screw, with 5.5 bed. Now we can put firewood and other camping stuff in back of truck without having it all in the back of the Expedition, and I have 3 kids so need the seat room.

Yep I used to waste my time hauling lumber and materials. Now I pick up my cell phone and call in an order. It is delivered in a day or two free! Do you know who actually pays for this delivery? I do. You and I do because the price of building material is the same for the both of us, but you wast your time and fuel "hauling" it yourself! LOL Just my 2 cen....Oh I mean free delivery...

I carry all those toys in my trailer and they are usually my buddys kids stuff. Also it(trailer ) keeps them secure and out of the weather. Also a pleasure to drive them in on the door ramp. The shorty is easy to park and looks real sweet. I don't even have ladder racks anymore. I have gone through the era of snowmobiles, atv's and bikes in the bed of a truck, was always a pain to load. I get to sore riding these now. I just go fishing on my boat, one that I can't tow on any road! LOL Enjoy your truck, they are all great.
