I unbolted the case for my wiper motor? and a bunch of springs got loosened. Any tips on getting the motor back in? Its got these tiny copper blocks at the end of wires too and im not sure where they go exactly.
The copper blocks are the contact brushes in the motor. They make contact with the armature to provide a path for the current. Many times a motor will have pin holes through which small drill bits or paper clips can be inserted to hold the spring loaded brush assemblies down while reassembling the motor case.
A wiper motor also has other brushes & contacts that allow current to continue to flow after turning the wiper switch off to allow the wipers to return to their "park" position.
I have yet to have one from a Bronco/F-Series apart so I am not sure if this will help. Have you priced a new unit? You could take the time to tinker with the old one & still end up having to replace it.
