Poor Lady

Today at the lube rack this lady pulls in to get her oil changed. First thing I do is pull the dipstick and find a super chunky goo. The car was a 98 altima with about 78,000. I wiped the dipstick off and went for another shot and still got the same thing. Not too much of the liquid type in there. I asked her how long it had been since she changed her oil last. She said she bought the car about 1 month ago and stopped in at 2,000 miles instead or 3,000 just to keep it up and have her own records. I started explaining to her how oil in this condition has pretty much ruined the life of the engine. I told her to go back to the dealer (which is a major car dealer in OKC) and see what they said but not to let them touch the car until she was satisfied with what they were going to do to make it right. She asked me to write a statement about what I had seen and I said no problem. I know she is going to get screwed though. These guys must be horrible dealers. Most dealers will flush the engine out if they get a trade in like that but these guys didn't even chnge the oil before the car switched hands.

Talk about poor service! It pays to buy from a dealer you can trust, even though they're hard to find.

I have always bought used vehicles from private owners because for one, you get a little history of the vehicle, you don't get screwed as bad and you don't have some high pressure a_ _ h_ _ _ on your butt. You don't usually get any warranty, but, that's about what you get from a used car dealer anyway.
