Calling all Volare IFS experts....

The photo below is a Volare IFS I just obtained. While looking it over, I came up with a couple of questions. They are...

A) The tie rod is composed three pieces (BTW, if you know the names of these ties rod pieces, it would be helpful). There are 2 short adjustable pieces that attach to the wheels. There is also a longer middle piece that ties the two shorter pieces together. One end of the longer middle piece is attached to the steering box drag link (I think that is the corret name) and the other end of the longer middle piece should be attched to something. Pic #1 points to the attachment point. My question is, what does #1 attach to?

B) What is bracket #2 used for? Can I remove it at the same time I remove the engine mount brackets?

What you are pointing to is the idler arm assemply. If you did not get one with your clip, somebody owes you one. Yes, you need it. No, do not cut if off

Forgot to add:

You can get a complete idler arm with bushing which goes into your part #2, from Checker, Pepboys, or Napa etc. Should be about $40-$50. All new parts complete with grease nipples which my original did not have (and boy was it run out)
