headlight bezels

The dark gray area on the headlight bezels is really faded. Has anyone painted the area around the headlight and signal light? Wondering if it would look alright in black (don't want it to look like it has two black eyes, though). Just want the gray area dark again. Any suggestions?

I was thinking about that the other day..... Mine are fading and starting to get dark. But, my centre around my grill is still chrome. Weird. I have seen other trucks and they are the same.

Mine are opposite...they were black, but the drivers side bezel, the paint is starting to come off, making it look slightly grayish in color. Weird... I plan on buying a new chrome grill with chrome and black headlight bezels soon.

A few years back I painted around the chrome on my grill with black and it has held up fine. But I do agree when the bezel cost only 20$ they are easier to just buy new.

I've been going through the galleries and found this one that I like -----> painted grill/bezels

I really like how it brings out the front end. The front on my truck right now looks too "plain" in my opinion -----> "plain jane"

I'll probably just buy new bezels eventually (these have those button clips for a winter grill cover, looks bad), but I'd like to experiment with a new look by doing some painting. Any tips on how to paint the gray area black? I was thinking of doing the grill like the one on that Bronco.

That is exactly what mine looks like. I just cleaned the areas well then taped all the chrome front and painted it. Of course I did it with the parts off.

Isn't there a "chrome" paint? I believe I saw some at Wally-world once. Hmmm . . . . . black or chrome . . . black or chrome?
