Lighting an Acetylene Torch

Really you can do it either way . Back when i started my job bout 9 1/2 years ago i had never used a torch . I was only 17 too tho. Anyway he showed me how to light a torch by using just the gas and then applying oxy unitl your blue tips dont move when you trigger it. Then he said when you get good you can do this... ( crack both valves and strike and have it set where you need it ). It took some practice but now i can do it everytime jus bout. depending on line pressure i turn the gas **** bout 3/8 turn and the air bout 1/8 turn . everynow and then i catch myelf doin it the old way. but hey you know what it cuts either way
