DVD Player

I am wanting to add an aftermarket DVD palyer and monitor to my 1998 EB EXP. I am looking for ideas that have worked and also interested with DVD Player / Monitor seperated v's a single component DVD player/Monitor combo. i want the monitor to be visible to the second row and third row and would like to center the monitor for viewing.I have the rear air controls in the only spot that seems to be ideal. Thanks for the help.

You might try posting in the Audio/Video forum. Look further down in the main page (list of forums).

Edit: P.S. if this post disappears from here, the Moderator(s) have moved it to the appropriate forum... oh never mind, he wouldn't find it anyway.

You can purchase a DVD player with a 7" display for the second row and hang it between the seats (Targus makes a nice case which can hang between the seats or right off the back of one seat). Make sure that it has audio and video outputs for a second display, and run that to another display for the third row.

I just recently installed a dvd and monitor in my XLT. I have a 10" monitor and I had to take off the rear air controls on mine. I installed the DVD player inside the center console where my cd changer used to be. People in the third row don't have proble seeing the monitor. Either way, you still have to get rid of you rear air control, if you want your monitor to be center. Unless you install two headrest monitor and a monitor for the third row, if money is not a problem. Goodluck.

This was the ideal set up for me. The monitor is not real easy to see from the 3rd row though. Good Luck.

dvd player

hi, not sure where you live but here in Los Angeles I just had installed a Blaupunkt dvd player and a Bravo 10.4" overhead screen, and a sony a/v switch,(for x-box, playstation) and an additinal output line to plug in to my portable dvd player for the front seat. All was purchased from Fry's electronics. There was a special advertised, and is still offered. Not sure how much you want to spend, but I got mine out the door with a 4 year warranty for everything for $975 installed.

Rosen entertainment makes, IMO, the BEST mobile system out there. This last week i just installed their CV II 10.4 monitor, i also bought the veichle specific shroud/bezel and got to keep my overhead AC controls. Awesome (like factory) fit and the color. This was done in my 00 Navigator, the shroud is for Exps. and Navs. W/O the sunroof. Thay also make them for the ones with Sunroofs in tan and gray. Be warned though, they cost a pretty penny though a Rosen authorized dealer, but are worth every cent. Look on ebay, i got a hell of a deal. I bought the shroud online for 1/2 the price the dealer wanted, my dvd players is on the way as well.
