Do I need to modify the cat?

most people will tell you that the new cats are high flow and they don't restrict the exhuast. but whose gonna suggest taking it off when it's illegal? i did a test a while ago for a school research paper with my 01 v10 excursion with 3.73s. i got a 10000lb trailer pulled over on a slight grade on the highway, mashed the throttle and timed it from 0-60 mph. if i remeber corectly it took 34 seconds with the cat and 27 with out. i also have a 40 series on it so its loud as hell but like a musle car not all fuzzy like with the cat. oh and when i hit about 55 with out the cat i blew the tail pipe off, admittedly it was poorly attached but it was when i tested with the cat too. quite i difference, try it if you don't mind the noise i bet you'll feel the power in the top end. if not or if you need to pass emmisions $10 at autozone on adapters and you can put it back on!
