1974 E-350 Rear end?

1974 E-350 Rear end?
Can anyone tell me what axle was used under the rear of a 1974 E-350..........Got a buddy with ring and pinion problems, and wouold like to swap out the 4.88 for something like a 3.73. The Dana expert web site only lists their axle from 1979 to date. Any help would be much appreciated.

Post the axle codes from the vehicle rating plate on the door or check with the data plate decoder in the links section of my FTE web page. The code may not be correct for what you have now tho. The axle could have been changed b4. You can also check the dogtag on the axle but that may not be 100%.
