I installed my autometer z series and have no power to them. I used the wires that are under the dash and look like they are there for costumer use. I used the black on for the ground the red for the 12v, and the yellow for the dashboard lighting. it still no worky. I know its the wiring cause the boost gauge works, but none of them have lights and the pyro and trans dont work at all. Any suggestions?
There r 6, 1 red, 1 blue, 1 black, 1 yellow, 1green with tracer and black cap, 1 lt blue with tracer and black cap, Also i have the same thing under the hood near the fire wall just a diffarnt set.
I ran power for the tranny temp and pyro module to the #17 fuse with a fuse tap, Power for the guages I ran from the headlight power utilizing the dimmer for the guages, really simple!! Good luck....
Also make sure you check your ground lead.. 99% of the time I have wiring problems is when I havn't secured the ground properly or a bad connection. There is a nice ground bolt behind the driver side kick panel that i used for my ground..
There are wires under the dash that just lead out to the other side of the firewall and end there too. They are put there for people who want to hook up aftermarket electrical items. Pop your hood and look up in the top drivers side of the firewall and you'll see them dead ending there too.
That is interesting, I have noticed both wires but never dawned on me that they would just lead through the firewall...
there is a connector behind the plastic on both front wheel wells, 2 pin, probably about a nickel size or so, anyone know where those lead up to? My guess is they are for a lighted running board but haven't put much effort into finding them
