is this normal

i just installed a voltmeter in my truck, it is an 02 f-350 and when i start the truck it reads around 12 and then after about 20 seconds (give or take 5 sec) it jumps up to 14 and stays there. is this normal for my truck to do this or should it be at 14 right away??

The normal voltage range for a 12 volt system is 13.8 to 14.2.
