Smile another question

I asked about which carb to use but this time I want to know if I need to go ahead and get a different intake. The Intake I bought is supposed to have come off a 70 ranchero . The part no is D3ZE-8425-AA. Can anyone tell me what vehical and year this is from. Will this intake cuase any problems on my 351c w 2v heads or should I just break down and buy a new one?

The D3ZE-AA intake is from a 1973 351C 4V engine, probably from a Mustang/Cougar or Torino/Montego, maybe a Ranchero.

It was designed for use with the 351C 4V heads.

Using the 4V intake on the 2V heads will give you a "HEADACHE". Heh, heh. Seriously Don't.

Stick with the 2V heads, and get the 2V intake. Listen to BearTracks, very smart guy.

What type of problems could I encounter if I were to try and use it?

It probably won't seal, and if it does it won't flow right due to the port mismatch.

Get yourself an Edelbrock Performer Intake for 2V heads and an Edelbrock Performer 600 CFM carb.

The outlet ports on 351C-4V are huge, compared to the inlet port of a 2V head. The outlet port should be smaller than the inlet port of the head. The only way to port match would be to open the head inlet ports to 4V specs, or to stuff the outlet ports of the intake to match the 2V specs, or some of each. A nice Edelbrock Performer is lighter than a cast manifold, and can probably be purchased used on Ebay at a reasonable price.
