Hey Pud. Were do you get these cranks that use the 302 rods and pistons. I'd love to get one for an engine i plan on building. Thanks Lance

Yeah the 268 has a lope, nothing that I would consider too radical, but a performance sound for sure. You might go for one of the smaller grinds like the XE250H or XE256H, they would have improved torque over the 268 but not as much hp in the upper rpms. later

They use the 351w rods with 302 pistons.

Just checked out the Tripac site, they have some nice fans. What size fans were you able to fit? Hows the CFM rating?

I'd like to see some pictures of your ride, are you planning on putting some in your gallery soon?

So, for towing a gooseneck trailer, which one makes the most torque, the XE250H, or the XE256H, or would you still run the 268? I'm sure my engine will spend very, very little time at 6000 rpm. I'm most interested in passing on a two lane highway while loaded...as well as not hindering traffic when leaving on a green light......I want to be able to get out of the other guys way.....Some find it annoying to be stuck behind a loaded rig for miles......

Here is the actual graph, it shows the 262 vs 268 with stock heads, then 262 vs 268 with gt-40p. Stock or gt-40p, 8.5:1 was the compression ratio. Performer 600 carb and performer intake with shorty headers. Either one isn't that bad, you would get theoretically better gas mileage with the smaller cams, but then again stranger things have happened. See what you think:

I don't think you'll be happy with that much cam in a truck. I put a 260H in and it was supposed to provide more power from 1500 on up but what I actually found was no increase in power until about 2200-2500 which was too high for off the line and most highway with o/d where you are running 2000-2200 most of the time , I got a 252 instead and it hauls *** from about 1800 on up you can really feel it in the seat of your pants and it idles nice.
