Fading Tailgate

I am restoring a 1971 Ranger XLT and the woodgrain tailgate piece is badly faded although it is in relatively good condition. Anyone with tips to resurface or find replacement?

Go to a store Like Wal-Mart Yardgoods dept and buy some Mactac

I got a 3M product from JC. But lots of places have it, unless you replace it all you will have to be picky about the shade and grain.
