engine ID
Is there a site where I can get engine code (ID) numbers like the Mortec has for chevy. I bought what this guy told me was a 429/C6 and '69 DOVE short block and heads. I want to run the numbers to see what I've realy got.
I want to put in a '58 Ford Panel Truck and have lots of torque for pulling.

Check the casting number on the crank, if possible. 4U,etc. is a 429 crank and 2Y, etc. (68-78) and 3Y (79-up) are 460 cranks.
The casting number is located on the 3rd couterweight from the front of the engine.
