on my 94 xlt the drivers side seat frame is crack on one side just in front of where the back bolts onto. i went to the dealership and they wanted almost $300 for the part plus two hours labor. anyway i have searched the local junkyards and have not found a thing. so i guess what i am asking is does anyone have a lower seat frame for the 94 bronco that i could buy froom them. thanks guys for the help
Mine broke there also. Welded it together and added an little plate along the weld to strenthen it. Then added a cross brace to connect both sides together. It has held for two years now.
cool i might try that. how hard was it to get the seat apart so you are left with the lower frame only. also did you mig weld it or did you use fluxcore wire. i have a welder but no tank of gas to mig weld. thanks.
does anyone know how to disassemble the 94 xlt seats? i have tried to take it apart once and could not figure it out. the switch on the side was giving me problems because i could not get it off and did feel like breaking it in the proccess. thanks
I weled mine added a support peice no problem I also added some foam to the seat. I pulled the whole seat out then took all the torx bolts out and the seat just came apart. I removed the cloth there is little clips on the bottom side ypou have to like peel it off pulled the foam off and welded the fram good luck Peter
My passanger seat did the same thing. 1st remove the seat from the vehicle. 2nd, remove the arm rest. 3rd, remove the padding by unzipping the seat cover. I can't remember for sure, but i think there are a couple of plastic pins inside keeping the padding to the frame. Once they are removed, the cover pulls straight up. Weld it with a support piece. I used a thick, 3 ince wide washer, ha ha. It hasn't given me any problems since, and it is 2 years later.
I had a similar problem on my 96 and repaired it with a plate but the plate broke a year later. I then went to a local interior repair shop and the owner hooked me up with a set of captain seats from a van. they fit on to the main ford seat bracket. I just have two levers to pull instead of one to get into the back seat.
